We invite you to participate in an online lecture by Dr. Paweł Widawski, Vice President of the Management Board of the Cashless Poland Foundation, entitled: "Digital currencies and decentralized finance – a new stage in the development of financial innovation.".
The online lecture will take place on Tuesday, November 16, 2021, at 1:00 PM on the ClickMeeting platform. Lecture duration: 60 minutes.
The lecture will cover, among others, the following topics:
– What are cryptoassets?
– What are central bank digital currencies?
– Decentralized finance (DeFi) and the traditional financial sector.
– How decentralized finance will influence the development of other sectors (Web.3.0, metaverse, NFT).

Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Law and Administration, University of Warsaw. Previously, Director of the Payment Systems and Electronic Banking Team at the Polish Bank Association, Member of the Management Board of the European Payments Council, and Member of the Payments Committee of the European Banking Federation. Graduate of the Faculty of Law and Administration, University of Warsaw, and the Leadership Academy for Poland program.
You can participate in the online lecture in two ways:
1. By registering individually, please find the registration link below along with instructions, or
2. We encourage faculty and staff to share their lectures in real time online on a screen in the lecture hall. The lecturer registers, while students watch the lecture on the screen in the lecture hall. In this case, students can also receive a certificate of attendance; we will only need an attendance list – preferably in Excel with a separate column for "First Name" and "Last Name." After registering, you will receive an email containing a link to the online lecture, which will be sent to the email address provided during registration (if the email is not in your main inbox, please check your Spam or other email folders).
The online lecture is interactive, with the ability to ask questions and share your opinions in the chat. The chat will be moderated.
IMPORTANT: To participate in the online lecture, you must use a computer/laptop (a smartphone or tablet is also acceptable) and a current web browser: Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Opera, Safari, or Edge. It's best to use the current version of Google Chrome. .
CERTIFICATE: After the lecture, each participant will receive a thank-you email with a link to a certificate of participation (issued to the name and surname provided during registration).
Students participating in the lecture online by sharing the broadcast in the lecture hall will receive a certificate (in PDF format) from the lecturer (if the lecturer sends the attendance list – name and surname in separate columns).
