National Center for Economic Education at the Economic Forum in Karpacz!
The beginning of September marks not only the return to school but also, traditionally, a time when representatives of politics, business, administration, science, and NGOs from Central and Eastern Europe gather at the Economic Forum in Karpacz. The National Center for Economic Education, an institutional partner, was also present at the event.
This year's 34th Economic Forum gathered over 6,000 participants who spent three days (September 2-4) discussing the future of Europe in times of transformation. Among the topics discussed were the future of economic education in Poland.
A panel discussion on "Economic Education Facing National and International Challenges" took place at the Warsaw School of Economics, with Krzysztof Pietraszkiewicz, Vice President of the Polish Academic-Economic Forum, participating. Paula Bruszewska, President of the Zwolnieni z Teorii Foundation, Prof. Marek Rocki, former Rector of the Warsaw School of Economics, and Prof. Bernard Ziębicki, PhD, Rector of the Kraków University of Economics, also participated in the discussion on the future of economic education. The discussion was moderated by editor Piotr Maślak.
During the debate, topics discussed included: the challenges facing economic education in a dynamically changing world, the importance of developing financial literacy from an early age and at all levels of education, research findings demonstrating the level of financial literacy in Poles, and the impact of the Year of Economic Education 2024. President Pietraszkiewicz emphasized that the role of the National Center for Economic Education, which continues the REE 2024 initiative, is to integrate diverse communities and collaborate in promoting economic, financial, and entrepreneurial literacy. To this end, 10 teams are working to prepare recommendations for action in various areas related to economic education.
