The FINSIM Academic League 2019/2020 competition was decided remotely

The Warsaw Institute of Banking Foundation, taking into account the situation in the country related to the coronavirus, has decided to change the format of the final training session of the FINSIM Academic League Competition to a webinar.

which the FINSIM Project is implemented as part of the economic education of the National Bank of Poland.
The winner
The COPERNICUS BANK team representing the Nicolaus Copernicus University won the competition.
Copernicus in Toruń, reaching the price at the end of the second year of operation
PLN 166.26 shares on the FINSIM virtual stock exchange.
Second place was taken
LET'S OVERLEVERAGE team representing the Warsaw School of Economics in
Warsaw with a result of PLN 163.41 per share on the FINSIM virtual stock exchange.
3rd place
won the Bear Bank team representing the Kielce University of Technology with a result of PLN 129.64 per share on the virtual
FINSIM stock exchange.
Before the webinar, each Team prepared
a presentation about your bank, the adopted strategy, its implementation and
achieved results. These presentations were discussed by the Mentors during
weibnarium and posted on the website www.liga.finsim.pl.
This year's prizes – gift cards in
amount: PLN 5,000 for 1st place, PLN 3,000 for 2nd place and 2nd place
PLN 000 for third place and professional internship for the winning team
funded by Bank Gospodarstwa Krajowego, Project Partner.
In the eighth edition
15 bank teams participated in the FIN SIM Academic League 2019/2020 competition,
grouping nearly eighty students, representing 10 Polish
university: University of Technology
Gdańsk, Kielce University of Technology, Warsaw University of Life Sciences,
Warsaw School of Economics, University of Economics in Katowice,
University of Economics in Krakow, Maria Curie-Skłodowska University in
Lublin, Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń, University of Szczecin and
University of Zielona Góra
FINSIM Academic League is a training course about
of a professional nature, in which a simulation game is used in the field of
financial management of the bank. During the game, participants, as management boards
virtual banks, had a chance to test themselves in one of the scenarios
macroeconomics, and finally find out how their decisions in the game
translated into the prices of bank shares on the virtual stock exchange FINSIM. Competition
was conducted under the supervision of three Mentors and experienced bankers: Michał Bellwon, Andrzej Jakubaszek and
Łukasz Lewicki.
An opportunity to gain further skills from
scope of Bank management will be participation in the next 9th edition of the FIN SIM competition
LA, to which the organizer – Warsaw Institute of Banking Foundation – is now
invited all participants.
