The fourth meeting of the Student Leaders Club took place on October 15, 2021. The first meeting after the summer break was devoted to the topic: "Eco-society from a micro and macro perspective. Ecology-education-economics" and brought together nearly 30 participants from across Poland.
During the meeting, participants had the opportunity to listen to presentations by three experts and engage with them in a Q&A session. The first guest, Prof. Dr. hab. Szymon Malinowski, Director of the Institute of Geophysics at the Faculty of Physics, University of Warsaw, spoke about the need to protect the environment and care for our planet at both the micro and macro scales. He introduced everyone to the climate crisis we will face, presented possible solutions, and emphasized the need to care for biodiversity.
In the second part of the meeting, Maciej Frasunkiewicz, a lecturer at SWPS University in Warsaw, briefly outlined the challenges faced in education, highlighting the widely varying levels of social competence and the need to develop these skills. He discussed forms of education worth exploring and implementing into everyday life.
Our third guest, Krzysztof Rzyman, an economics journalist, author of the Green Podcast, and owner of a less-waste café, spoke about eco-friendly business and good ecological practices through the lens of his business experience. In just a few steps, he demonstrated how to simultaneously save money and care for the planet.
We would like to thank all the guests who participated in the panels and the participants of the 4th meeting of the Student Leaders Club, and we invite you to the December meeting, which will be devoted to the topic of cybersecurity and modern technologies.
