The second meeting of the Student Leaders Club is behind us!

The second meeting of the Student Leaders Club took place on March 31, 2021, during which 41 representatives of student organizations from across Poland listened to expert presentations and participated in a panel discussion. The meeting, titled "Remote World – How Will the Experience of the Pandemic Impact Our Daily Lives?", was organized by the Warsaw Institute of Banking as part of the "Active Student" project, in cooperation with the Students' Parliament of the Republic of Poland, and under the patronage of the Polish Bank Association.
The aim of the Club is to conduct intergenerational discussions and exchange experiences on topics important from the point of view of the young generation and the future of Polish society.
The meeting was opened by the Vice-President of the Warsaw Institute of Banking, Michał Polak, who recalled the idea of the Student Leaders Club and introduced the participants to the topic of the meeting.
In the first part, participants listened to presentations from invited guests and had the opportunity to interact with them during a Q&A session. Each guest shared their knowledge and experiences related to the pandemic. Three different perspectives emerged: Dr. Michał Lenartowicz from the University of Physical Education in Warsaw spoke about physical activity; Dr. Łukasz Arendt from the Educational Research Institute discussed the labor market; and Dr. Agnieszka Popiel from SWPS University of Social Sciences and Humanities spoke about experiences related to mental health. Each presentation led to a broad discussion, which also continued in the chat, where participants interacted with our experts.
The second part of the meeting was devoted entirely to discussing psychological support. This support is currently one of the most frequently discussed topics by student organizations. Young people need knowledge on this topic, not only in terms of prevention but also where they can seek help. The panel was led by Julia Sobolewska, Director of the Communication Center of the Students' Parliament of the Republic of Poland, who first presented the assumptions and idea behind the PSRP Comfort Zone project and then moderated the discussion on activities supporting mental health at Polish universities. Participants shared their experiences with psychological support initiatives and how to support students in this area.
We would like to thank all the guests who participated in the panels and the participants of the 2nd meeting of the Student Leaders Club.
The third meeting will take place in the second half of June.
