Six workshops. Nearly a hundred teachers. One shared belief – we can't do this without schools and teachers!
As part of the 10th Economic Education Congress, we met at the headquarters of the National Center for Economic Education and the Warsaw Stock Exchange to work with teachers on how to teach young people finance and economics more effectively.
Nearly one hundred teachers from all over Poland participated in six workshop sessions – mathematicians, geographers, Polish teachers, historians, business and management teachers, early childhood education teachers, social studies teachers, and career counselors.
The aim of the workshops was to strengthen schools' role in developing young people's economic and financial competencies. Participants had the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the assumptions of the new core curriculum, which will be mandatory in primary schools from September 2026.
Particular attention was paid to the new economic and financial module – a significant element of the changes, which integrates financial education into many school subjects. Numerous educational projects and financial education materials developed by the Warsaw Institute of Banking at the request of the Ministry of Finance were also presented.
